Working east of the main road bridge towards Pant.
A complete change of scene this year, working south from the original bridge abutment we laid over 300 m during four weekends.
Another 150 metres working north from last year.
We moved to the other side of Bridge 86 and completed 125 metres.
This winter we completed the stretch between Bridges 86 and 87 that we started three years ago.
2009 / 10 and 2010 / 11 - Redwith
The ongoing restoration at Redwith meant that these two winters would be the last that the waste brash from hedge-laying could be burned on bonfires in the channel bed. Hence, these winters' programmes ran at Redwith. The bonfires were also used to dispose of the large tree stumps remaining from the initial channel clearance. The 2009 programme started early so that a section of laid hedge was completed in time for the Welshpool Big Dig 40th Anniversary weekend. The result won more praise from the Oswestry Show.
