Montgomery Canal Restoration Work Party Report - Extra

June 24 2010

Seven of the restoration group were on site on Thursday 24 June to take delivery of nearly 100 tonnes of ready-mix concrete. 12 cubic metres went into the invert under Pryces Bridge and a further 24 cubes into the retaining wall on the offside at Redwith Bridge. A concrete pump was used to move the concrete from the trucks to the job. The new French drain at Pryces Bridge proved highly efficient, allowing the area to be pumped out quickly before the first truck arrived. At the Redwith end of the site, the remaining six blockwork bays were filled, six having been filled last year.
